Great music is that which penetrates the ear with facility and leaves the memory with difficulty. Magical music never leaves the memory.

Selecting Your Ceremony Music

You’re not alone if you feel a little overwhelmed by the thought of selecting your Wedding Music-but we make it very easy! Through years of experience and almost 1000 weddings we’ve learned what works best during the various parts of the Wedding Ceremony. We’ve listed some of the most requested pieces below to help you get started. You can select one of our ideas or feel free to write in one of your own. You may also rearrange the selections. This sample would work wonderfully with a String Quartet and 1 or 2 Trumpets. Note: text that is italicized represents parts of the Catholic Mass. Please disregard the parts of the ceremony that do not apply to your wedding service.

Selecting Your Reception Music

Selecting your Reception Music may be the easiest task of all. Our clients often ask us to play whatever we know is most appropriate and what we know their guests will enjoy. Of course we welcome any requests you may have.

Selecting Your Ensemble

Music is one of the most important elements of your Wedding, and hiring experienced professionals is the key to ensuring that your music will be perfect. To illustrate this point please take a few moments and read some (or all) of the “Letters from our Clients” That we have included in our brochure. Their notes of appreciation and gratitude will give you an idea of how you, too, will feel after we perform on your special day!

Instrument Combinations

The Brass String Chamber Ensemble, as our name implies, specializes in the majestic combination of brass and string instruments. There are many combination available as you’ll see in the list below. We have bolded the ones that are most popular, but all combinations are wonderful! (The number in parenthesis represents the total number of musicians in each combination.)

Ceremony Tips
You have many options when choosing your Ceremony Musicians. Our most requested ensemble is the String Quartet (2 Violins, 1 Viola, 1 Cello) with 1 or 2 Trumpets. The music you select for your Ceremony will influence your choice of ensemble-we’d be happy to help you make that decision based on the music that you like. We will work with the Organist and/or Vocalist at your church, or, if you prefer, we can provide these musicians for you. Prelude music begins 15 minutes prior to your Ceremony, and is included in the price.

Reception Tips
The traditional ensemble for Wedding Receptions is the String Quartet which consists of 2 Violins, 1 Viola and 1 Cello. It is the most versatile and popular of all string groups. If you Reception is in a large ballroom or in a room with a high ceiling you may want to consider adding a Trumpet to the String Quartet. Your guest will be treated to beautiful classical music written for Trumpet and Strings as well as more contemporary pieces for String Quartet. A String Trio (without the Viola) is also an option although is less versatile than the String Quartet. If you Reception is outside you may prefer a Brass Ensemble. See page 3 in our brochure for more information regarding Reception Musicians.
